Rod Smith was voted into the into the GFL Hall of Fame following the 2007 season. He ranked 14th in points and receiving yards all time among WRs at the time of his retirement. Over the period 1997-2005, he scored the 5th most points of all WRs and his point total in 2000-2001 was the top ranked.
Smith played his first 3+ seasons with a bad St Louis Storm team. In Week 9 of 2000, he was traded to the Arizona Mice (for Frank Sanders and a #2 pick), where he helped lead the Mice to their first Gregory Cup. He finished 2nd in the post-season with the Mice in 2002. In his last four seasons he was a high draft pick for four bad teams.
