Priest Holmes was voted into the GFL Hall of Fame following the 2008 season. Like Tiki Barber, he came up short of automatic induction because it took him a few years to become a starting back and his career was relatively short. However, he was unquestionably a dominant player at his peak and from 2001-2004 he scored almost 2000 more points than any other RB. His 2002 and 2003 regular season point totals rank 4th and 19th all-time respectively. His 926 points in Week 12 of 2002 rank 18th on the list of best games by an offensive player.
Holmes spent the bulk of his career with the Minnesota Mud and made the post-season in 2003 and 2004. He also made the post-season in his first year in the GFL with the Detroit Bulldogs. However, none of those teams made a serious run at the Cup.
